The Sydney Sirens are excited to announce that Skye Thompson has re-signed as a Training Partner for the 2027 Super Netball season.
After beginning 2026 as a Training Partner, Thompson seized every opportunity that came her way, making her Suncorp Super Netball debut against the NSW Swifts in round seven before going on to feature in five games.
Initially joining the club as a Training Partner, the versatile wing attack and goal attack was elevated to the club's 11th Player before later earning a Permanent Replacement Player contract.
The Sutherland Shire product also continued to impress on the representative stage, helping New South Wales claim the 19/U National Championship before finishing the year as part of an Australian National Pathway squad that travelled to Samoa for the Ocean of Power Tour.
Thompson said she was excited to continue her development with the Sirens in 2027.
"I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue my journey with the Sydney Sirens," Thompson said.
"The past 12 months have been a whirlwind and if you had told me this time last year what my season would look like, I probably wouldn't have believed you.
"It's been such a rewarding experience, and I've learned so much from the coaches, staff and players around me.
"I feel really supported within this environment and I'm excited to continue developing alongside such a talented group throughout 2027."
Sydney Sirens Head Coach, Nerida Stewart, said Thompson's rise over the past 12 months had been a highlight for the club.
"Skye's story is exactly what a strong pathway system is designed to do," Stewart said.
"She came into our environment as a Training Partner, embraced everything in front of her and continued to earn opportunities through her performances and attitude.
"Her Super Netball debut was a fantastic reward for the work she's put in. She's shown she belongs in this environment and continues to grow every time she steps on court.
"We're excited to have her back as a Training Partner in 2027 and look forward to seeing her continue building on everything she achieved."
Thompson joins Eva Carneiro and Matilda Fanning as Training Partners for the 2027 Super Netball season, who will compliment the Sydney Sirens' contracted squad of 10: Sophie Dwyer, Molly Jovic, Matisse Letherbarrow, Grace Nweke, Claire O'Brien, Erin O'Brien, Teigan O'Shannassy, Amy Sligar, Jodi-Ann Ward and Hope White.
